I began my electrical career in 1979. At the time I was living in Bath NY renting an apartment from my parents. One day my father came to my door to inform me that I would be in the parking lot the next day at 8:00 a.m. to meet with an electrician he had hired to work on one of his buildings. I was somehow indentured to assist on this project. The next day I met Harry Rising, a local electrical contractor who had been in business 40 years. We immediately began installation of a double 200 amp service entrance upgrade. At that time I was 20 years old, had previously worked on construction sites, but had never performed electrical work. After installing the double service Harry and I installed electric baseboard heat throughout the building. Upon completion of that project, Harry asked if I would be interested in working with him on his next project, a complete home rewiring job. Harry was a home rewiring specialist, after completing the rewiring of that large Victorian style home I continued working for Harry. I remained employed with him for three years. During that period, we rewired many homes in the region. I worked for Harry on many other types of electrical jobs as well. We wired homes and buildings, both existing and new construction. There was no job beyond Harry’s expertise. That experience prepared me for starting and operating my own electrical contracting business.
Soon after launching my electrical contracting business I began wiring some of the finest new homes in the Corning New York area. This experience required t hat I elevate my quality of workmanship to the highest level in order to meet the standards of top builders and be a competitive contractor. I strive to maintain this reputation of quality. In the late 80’s I also partnered in a home building company, which built new homes, performed commercial and residential restoration and also performed a Historic Restoration project in Downtown Elmira NY. That experience greatly advanced my construction knowledge enhancing my ability in all types of electrical installations. It’s been especially helpful in rewiring and electrical retrofitting. I’m one of the few electrical contractors that will also provide the necessary wall and trim repairs that are often times associated with retro fit and rewiring projects.
There are many circumstances that can adversely impact any construction project. Weather, late subcontractor, materials delays, material order mistakes, faulty & damaged materials, blue print errors. On remodeling and renovation projects there may be unforeseen structural issues. On projects requiring excavation, there is always the chance for unforeseen ground and water issues. It is important that you hire an experienced contractor who knows how to properly deal with circumstances as they arise. I have encountered and dealt with many of these issues on multiple occasions and have successfully managed working solutions. Troubleshooting is a major part of many projects.
The regions I serve are listed on the home page. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing your project and electrical needs.
